DESCRIPTION:Uptown Epic Beer Walk\n2-4 p.m. Saturdays April 6-Oct. 26\n\n\nWhere History Meets Beer in Uptown Westerville Every Week. This two-hour walking tour will focus on historical information about Westerville’s Temperance past\, and teach participants about beer\, including samplings. \nUptown Westerville Inc.’s Epic Beer Walks will begin at North High Brewing Co.\, 250 S. State St.\, stop at various Prohibition-related sites in Uptown and also stop at Fattey Beer Co.\, 79 S. State St. \nThe tour guides will be two 1977 graduates of Westerville South High School: Kurt Sima\, owner of Eric Beer Trips (epicbeertirps.com) and Dr. Mark Grimsley\, a history professor at Ohio State University. The history lessons will be based on the Uptown Westerville Inc. book by Joe Meyer\, Westerville: The War Machine of Prohibition. Beer samples for this tour will be served at North High Brewing and Fattey Beer Company. \nParticipants should be able to walk approximately 2 miles for the tour. Join us from 6-9 p.m. Friday\, Oct. 25\, for the final Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Fourth Friday of 2024 as we take over State Street throughout historic Uptown for Magical Midnight Madness.  \nDon’t forget to wear your Halloween costume! \nUptown’s stellar collection of shops as well as its restaurants and pubs will be joined by special events all along State Street\, and the first blocks of East and West Main Street and College Avenue. \nOur Teens & Tweens areas. Arts Alley. Science Street and popup vendors will all be there. This two-hour walking tour will focus on historical information about Westerville’s Temperance past\, and teach participants about beer\, including samplings. \nUptown Westerville Inc.’s Epic Beer Walks will begin at North High Brewing Co.\, 250 S. State St.\, stop at various Prohibition-related sites in Uptown and also stop at Fattey Beer Co.\, 79 S. State St. \nThe tour guides will be two 1977 graduates of Westerville South High School: Kurt Sima\, owner of Eric Beer Trips (epicbeertirps.com) and Dr. Mark Grimsley\, a history professor at Ohio State University. The history lessons will be based on the Uptown Westerville Inc. book by Joe Meyer\, Westerville: The War Machine of Prohibition. Beer samples for this tour will be served at North High Brewing and Fattey Beer Company. \nParticipants should be able to walk approximately 2 miles for the tour.
