Curated by artist Cheryl Lyons, the “Voice of Women” exhibit features the work of six disparate artistic visions, by six talented female artists: Rebecca Lowther, Cynthia Puckett, Chloe Lyons, Terry Gabel, Gayle McKay and Cheryl Lyons.
Cheryl Lyons described the exhibit:
“A generalist, a polymath, a renaissance person, a multipotentialite, an experience. Sometimes a few people have a common element, such as making art, or being female. In this show, every person is making artwork and sending their ability and message out of themselves for others to observe (and hear, if they listen).
“Not one of these women is alike in how they approach this process. Each has a multi-level voice, process and message. This exhibition is the voice of women. I asked a young friend to define art and she said, ‘Art is what is inside you that comes out.’ Seemed like a great definition to me,” she said.
