About
Coffee Café and roaster in the heart of historic Uptown Westerville
Now part of the Boston Stoker family, Java Central continues its service to Westerville as it has since 2007, a place for friends to meet and enjoy quality specialty coffee.
It remains as ???????????????? ???????????????????????????? – with the same radical hospitality, quality products and exceptional staff that have worked so hard to get us here. Partners Andy and Ralph also are going forward with Java Central/Boston Stoker. Ralph continues leading the music and art program and Andy will become Boston Stoker’s director of sustainability.
Boston Stoker was started by the parents of Boston Stoker partner Henry Dean, Don and Sally Dean, in 1973 as a small pipe and tobacco shop in Englewood, Ohio. They began giving away free cups of coffee as a complimentary service to their loyal customers. Boston Stoker started roasting coffee in the back of one of our shops in the early 80s and became a charter member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America in the mid-”80s and then started our first direct trade relationship shortly after.
Boston Stoker now has five café locations in Dayton and Central Ohio, a thriving wholesale business, a growing ecommerce business, and a roastery operation in Dayton. Our vision is to become the premier roaster in the Midwest that exceeds the expectations of our farmers, families, and coffee loving friends. We look at all our team members as family and have always operated our business as such. I am looking forward to our families joining together to help us achieve this vision.
