Art Hop will flood Uptown with creativity; Singer-songwriters profiled
Art lovers, get ready for a great spring day in historic Uptown at the 2025 Westerville Art Hop.
Art of all sorts will be on kaleidoscope display at locations across Uptown for the Art Hop, set to run from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.
This year’s Art Hop will showcase everything from authors to professional visual artists, live dance and theatrical performances, fine art and gallery open houses, popup public art demonstrations, singer-songwriters providing live music, and student art displays in Uptown shops.
Over the next few weeks, we will break down the 2025 Art Hop action, with a series of posts in this In & About Uptown blog. This week, we focus on Singer-Songwriters.
A talented lineup of musicians will set up at three Uptown locations. The singer-songwriters will engage audiences with performances as well as discussion of their original music, career paths and the stories behind what the music means to them.
Four singer-songwriters will be featured for the Art Hop April 26. The locations and schedule for their one-hour performances will be:
- Jimmy V’s Grill and Pub, 1 S. State St. – Matthew Morgan at 12:15 p.m.
- Good Vibes Winery, 2 S. State St. – Elia Giuliani at 1:30 p.m.
- Fattey Beer Co., 79 S. State St. – Jamie Ravine and Heather Evans at 3 p.m.
Singer-songwriter bios
Matthew Morgan
After the resounding success of his indie-folk album, Timepiece, singer-songwriter Matthew Morgan is back with a captivating new sound. Teaming up with elite producer Brian Skeel, Morgan’s latest singles progress into indie/alternative rock territory with electronic elements and a larger sonic palette.
An openly queer artist, Matthew understands the importance of writing songs that allow everyone to be seen, especially giving a voice to the outliers and members of marginalized communities. With a mission to demonstrate that alternative folk music can resonate deeply with the LGBTQIA+ community while tackling social issues, “Morgan challenges the conventional stereotypes that have long dominated the (roots) and folk genres.”
Elia Giuliani
Elia Giuliani is a singer-songwriter from Columbus, who has been crafting melodies and lyrics since a young age. Known for her acoustic style and thoughtful and descriptive lyrics, she instantly captures the emotional attention of her listeners.
With notes of Ingrid Michaleson, Lizzy McAlpine and Joni Mitchell in her writing, Elia prioritizes the story and emotion first and foremost in her songs. She recently recorded a vinyl project for her song Cigarette, in June 2024 through Leesta Vall Sound Recordings in Brooklyn, New York, and is currently working on her debut full-length album, Embers, set to release in the fall of 2025, produced by Jeff Martin.
Jamie Ravine
Jamie Ravine is an award-winning singer/songwriter, performer, and music community leader who loves sharing her passion for all things music in Columbus.
In addition to her solo material, she’s part of a duo called Chroma Cloud which is a modern and nostalgic synth pop band, inspired by ’80s pop music.
Jamie also supports the Columbus music community by leading a growing, monthly gathering of musicians called Green Room Meetup for like-minded musicians to have opportunities to network, strengthen relationships and reach their musical goals within the local scene.
Heather Evans
Heather Evans is a multi award-winning singer-songwriter, podcast host and artist coach based in Columbus.
Focusing on building her music catalog over the past 5 years, Heather’s music has been featured on FOX, MTV, ABC, Disney +, Netflix, HULU, Indie films and more.
Over and above all the industry recognition and accolades, Heather’s main goal is to spread positivity through her life and music.
