Joe Meyer is a frequent writer for Uptown Westerville Inc.’s In & About Uptown blog.
A resident of Westerville since 1977, Joe describes himself as “a recovering journalist.” He is the owner of Meyer Media LLC, a communications and marketing firm he founded in 2015. Prior to establishing Meyer Media, Joe enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career in local journalism in Central Ohio.
His last two major journalism posts were as Editor-in-Chief of Suburban News Publications, a group of 22 weekly community newspapers in Central Ohio, from 2002-2012, and Managing Editor/News of ThisWeek Community Newspapers, a group of 25 Central Ohio community papers, from 2012-2015. From 1989 until 2015, he served as editor of Westerville’s historic hometown paper, the Westerville News & Public Opinion. After successive ownership changes, Gannett News ceased publication of all its Central Ohio community newspapers in January 2023.
Today with Meyer Media, Joe continues to write, and also offers creative services, communication consultation, and website design for businesses and nonprofits – including Uptown Westerville Inc.
