‘Generations’ marking 25th birthday all year
Uptown’s Generations Performing Arts Center, 11 W. College Ave., turns 25 this year, and a yearlong celebration will continue through its annual holiday shows around Christmas.
Westerville native Angie Haver founded Generations on Sept. 13, 1999. In the nearly 25 years since, the dance school and studio has grown into an iconic Uptown institution, with about 600 students usually enrolled, in all forms of dance instruction.
You can catch some of the anniversary fun when Generations students perform on College Avenue, outside the studio, during the UWI’s monthly 4th Friday street festivals. This year’s remaining 4th Fridays are set for July 26, Aug. 23, Sept. 27, and Oct. 25 – the “Midnight Madness” edition.
“We performed at the first WUMA-sponsored Midnight Madness, and we continue to do so each year,” Haver said.
