Visit with a Snow Plow (Outside)
Bundle up for a fun behind-the-scenes look at winter road maintenance! Explore a real snow plow from Genoa Township, learn about its different parts, and ask questions about how crews keep roads safe during snowy weather. This hands-on experience is perfect for curious kids and families. Please note that if the snow plow is needed for winter weather operations or in the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled.
Visit with a Leaf Vacuum (Outside)
Climb into the world of big trucks with the City of Westerville! Explore a real leaf vacuum, discover how it works, and learn about the different parts of the vehicle from the people who operate it. Kids can ask questions about leaf collection and city services while getting an up-close look at this impressive machine. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled.
Wizards & Wands Festival: 4th Friday Celebration
Experience an evening of magic and wonder at 4th Friday’s Midnight Madness in Uptown Westerville! As part of the Wizards & Wands Festival, enjoy live music, illusionists, science shows, giant bubbles, amazing animals, tattoos, a DeLorean display, costumed characters, and more. With free admission, family-friendly entertainment, and costumes encouraged, this enchanting event offers something for every age.
Halloween Scream-along | Eric Nassau
Get ready to dance, sing, and celebrate Halloween with local musician Eric Nassau! Featuring favorite spooky tunes performed with guitar, ukulele, harmonica, kazoo, and more, this interactive concert is perfect for young children and their families. Part of the Wizards & Wands Festival, this lively morning program will have everyone moving to the music. Children ages 0–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (18+) throughout the event.
Magic of Science | OSU Chemistry Demonstration Lab
Discover the magic of science with staff and students from the OSU Chemistry Demonstration Lab! Watch exciting chemistry demonstrations come to life before trying hands-on experiments of your own. This interactive program is part of the Wizards & Wands Festival and is perfect for curious young scientists. Children ages 6–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (18+) throughout the event.
Life-Sized Candyland: Magical Forest Edition
Embark on a magical journey through a whimsical forest where unicorns, dragons, and sweet surprises await! Families will follow a rainbow path, complete interactive challenges, and collect tasty treats along the way. Part of the Wizards & Wands Festival, this enchanting experience is perfect for young adventurers. Check in upon arrival and enjoy activities in the kids area while you wait for your turn. Children ages 2–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (18+) throughout the event.
Mario Celebration! (Ages 4-11)
It’s-a Mario time! Join us for a fun-filled celebration of everyone’s favorite plumber hero with Mario-themed crafts, games, and interactive activities. This family-friendly program is part of the Wizards & Wands Festival and is perfect for children ages 4–11. Children ages 4–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (18+) throughout the event.
Costume Swap: Free Shopping Day
Refresh your costume collection at the Westerville Public Library’s free Costume Swap! Browse a variety of new and gently used costumes and accessories perfect for Halloween, theater productions, Comic-Con, or themed parties. Thanks to generous community donations, there’s no cost to shop and no donation is required to participate. This event is open to all ages while supplies last.
Visit with BalletMet
Twirl, stretch, and dance along with a BalletMet instructor during this interactive program for young children. Learn about ballerinas and their training, enjoy engaging stories, and take part in a fun movement activity that lets kids show off their dance skills. Children ages 0–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (18+) for the duration of the program.
Miniature Horses | Dreams on Horseback
Discover the world of miniature horses in this fun, educational program presented by Dreams on Horseback. Learn about horse care, equipment, and health while observing live miniature horses up close. After the presentation, participants can explore hay, feed, and other hands-on materials. Live animals will be present, and if touching is permitted, a signed waiver from a caregiver (18+) will be required. Children ages 6–7 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver throughout the event.
Don’t Let the Pigeon Take Over Storytime!
Join us for a super silly storytime celebrating one of Mo Willems’ most beloved characters—the Pigeon! Kids will enjoy engaging stories, rhymes, songs, and a themed craft to wrap up the fun. This program is designed for children ages 0–7, and a parent or caregiver (18+) must remain in the room for the duration of the event. Please note that Pigeon won’t be making an appearance this time—he has a very busy schedule!
